ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. David Obdie Crisp, 86, of Stockdale, Texas, passed away on May 31, 2006, in Seguin.

He was born April 12, 1920, in Uvalde to Thomas Francis Marion and Minnie Ellenor (Laster) Crisp.

He married Rachel Jessica Baker on May 11, 1942, in Paint Rock. David was a farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and eight of his brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel Crisp of Stockdale; his children, David Aubry Crisp and wife Carmelita of Seguin, Faye Kathleen Crisp Clutter and husband Nelson of San Antonio, Roger Lee Crisp and wife Jenelle of New Braunfels, Mollie Paulette Crisp Soefje and husband Victor of Stockdale, Bobby Ray Crisp and wife Sandy of Sutherland Springs, and Carolyn Elaine Crisp Talley and husband James of Sutherland Springs; his sisters, Ora Belle Baker of La Vernia and Allie May Furlong of Karnes City; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, June 2, from 9:30-11 a.m., with a funeral service following in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale with Pastor Elroy Gold officiating.

Interment followed in the Steele Branch Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to an organization of the donor’s choice.
