Otilia C. Lugo passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 85.

She was born in Floresville on Sept. 22, 1922, to Matias and Antonio Silva Courvier.

Otilia was a longtime resident of Floresville and a San Antonio resident for the past 48 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her children, Alice, Shirley, Rosa, Felipe, and Joe; siblings Matias Courvier Jr., Jose, Herlinda, and Feliz.

Otilia is survived by her daughters, Connie Garcia and husband Michael, Janie Longfellow and husband Richard, Gloria Lugo, and Jinny Lugo, all of San Antonio; sons Juan Lugo and wife Gracie, Gilbert Lugo and wife Annie, Willie Lugo, and Ray Lugo, all of San Antonio; her sisters, Lupe Martinez and husband Frank and Petra Arriola and husband Antonio, all of San Antonio; brother Fernando Courvier and wife Lupe and Clemente Courvier, both of Floresville; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A rosary was recited on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A Mass was celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville with the Rev. Phil Henning as Celebrant.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Willie Lugo, Gilbert Lugo, Juan Lugo Sr., Tobie Garcia, Joshua Longfellow, and Juan Lugo Jr.
