On February 4, 2009, a bill was introduced in the U.S. House Representatives, 1st Session, of the 111th Congress. It was a bill for consideration presented to the House by Representative Rosa Delauro, a democrat representative from the State of Connecticut. It’s was labeled as H.R. 875, and to be considered as The Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009. This particular ‘socialist’ bill, if passed into law, will affect each and every one of us in rural counties in states throughout our entire nation. So, you’d be wise to listen up and take notice!

Ostensibly, it was designed under the guise of protecting our citizens, rural and urban alike, from e-boli and salmonella poisoning like the outbreaks we have seen over the past several years. That is not true whatsoever! The original bill as submitted contains 90 pages of text and is really meant to socialize our food production and place all food production and distribution in the U.S. and worldwide under strict government control. For ease of presentation of my research on this bill, the following text will be written as such … anything in parentheses is language directly from the bill and all other comments will be from various and sundry articles I have researched and analyzed from others on this subject ,both for and against, as well as my own reading of the bill in its entirety.

As presented … (1111th Congress, 1st Session, H.R. 875. To establish the Food Safety Administration within the Department of Health and Human Services to protect the public health by preventing food-borne illness, ensuring the safety of food, improving research on contaminants leading to food-borne illness, and improving the security of food from Intentional contamination, and or other purposes.) The ‘and or other purposes’ should scare the hell out of you just on its own!

(To establish the Food Safety Administration within the Department of Health and Human Services).

This in itself will add several thousand people to the federal payroll meaning more of your taxpayers at work … larger government intrusion into each and every American’s private and personal lives. The Environmental Protection Agency, under the auspices of the federal government, already regulates our green house gases by establishing unattainable levels on our major corporations and cities and issuing fines, making our businesses much less profitable. Remember the Ozone alert days in San Antonio? The Agricultural Department of the federal government already has a program in place to inspect all slaughterhouses around the country for any contaminated meat they may find entering the food chain. And I could name you a number more. The Center for Disease Control for example. Need I say more?

Section 3. Definition (13) Food Establishment – (IN GENERAL – The term ‘food establishment’ means a slaughterhouse ‘except those regulated under the Federal Meat Inspection Act or the poultry Products Inspection Act’, factory, warehouse, or facility owed or operated by a person located in any State that processes food or a facility that holds, stores, or transports food or food ingredients.) Under the same section is Definition (14) FOOD PRODUCTION FACILITY … (The term ‘food production facility’ means any farm, ranch, orchard, vineyard, aquaculture facility, or confined animal-feeding operation.) Simply put, these two definitions cover every grain, vegetable, and meat producing and storage facility in the nation! It mandates, by law, government control over all grain elevator operators, stock yards, ranchers, farmers, Community Supported Agriculture or CSA operations, and farmer’s markets. If you sell your cattle to a stockyard or sell your excess vegetables to H.E.B. or in a stand on the edge of the road, your property and methods of ranching and farming falls under the direct control of this proposed law! Now let me go on and allow me to tell you how this affects you personally … no matter who you are.

Under this act, if passed into law, federal agents are given complete domain over your private property. The act mandates that anyone who produces food of any kind – meat, milk, fruit, vegetables, grains, ect. – and transports that food for sale will be subject to warrantless government inspections of their farms and food production records. Random inspections by federal agents are legally mandated without regard to farmers’ personal rights or property rights! Further, the law would legally permit federal agents working for the Food Safety Administration to enter your property randomly and confiscate your production records and/or products as they deem fit during a random, unannounced inspection process!

Furthermore, it mandates that they can implement restrictions regarding how farm animals can or should be fed and how your fields must be planted and managed. They will simply give you rules to be followed for what they consider are the legal requirements of the act. Every food grower is required to sign up for the program no less than 90 days after the passage of the bill. The fine for not registering, and eventually being caught, is $1,000,000! I kid you not!

Additionally, there is a fine for denying federal agents unlimited, random access to your property. That fine is also $1,000,000! This fine covers denying access to your property, your fields, your cattle feeding and processing procedures, and your records. By the way, your records are also mandated to be kept and in good order at the time of any random inspection. Even if you are in compliance, federal agents have the legal right to suggest and demand that you alter and follow their directives on how you must raise your livestock and plant your fields from this point forward!

I could go on and on about the actual contents of this socialist bill, but you need to read it word for word yourself. Just type in H.R. 875 in your internet browser and read it intensely. You will soon realize the above is not just my opinion but relates to the actual loss of your individual rights, liberty, and freedom you have headed your way if you don’t stand up and fight.

Folks, I sincerely urge you to no longer permit, with immunity, the greatest and only free and capitalistic nation to have ever graced this planet to shrink into oblivion without even a whimper! A great leader in history once uttered the following famous cry to his fellow citizens … “It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees”. Are you standing up or have you already sunk to your knees? You don’t have much time left to personally answer that question before it will simply be too late to maintain the life you now know and possess.
