Enthusiastic support is growing for the historic Tax Day Tea Party events to be held in 1800 cities across America on April 15. Wilson County will host one, as will San Antonio at the Alamo with an appearance by Glenn Beck! That should be very exciting!

Other Tea Parties will be held in Kerrville and Boerne and many other cities in Texas and across the nation. To find a Tea Party in a Texas city near you, go here: http://taxdayteaparty.com/teaparty/texas.

In a historic effort, perhaps unprecedented, millions of American will turn out this Wednesday to protest high taxes and suffocating regulations. The Boston Tea Party protested an oppressive king, and it was effective, but on April 15, 2009, citizens will not be dumping tea, but symbolically protesting, making speeches, and encouraging each other in their efforts to send a message to high-spending politicians.

While the typical major media probably won't give these gatherings much publicity, it will be up to individuals to spread the word in their local newspapers and online. Write letters to the editor, to local and national politicians, and keep up the heat.

The effectiveness of this movement will be what happens AFTER Wednesday. Voters must follow through by continuing to voice their opposition to what is happening to our freedom and our way of life. Most importantly, they must continue their protests by registering their vote in every upcoming election until we elect responsible, responsive people to public office. Unless and until we do that, nothing will change; Wednesday, April 15, will be just another tax day.

KC you have the right to your opinion. But before you like the Mainstream Media write us off as sore losers and extremist, maybe take a little time to understand what Wednesday was about. You are ignorant. The TEA party was ... More ›

I know the lack of media attention surprised no one but I am simply amazed that a couple of years ago illegals that had no rights as US citizens, marched down our streets (that taxpayers paid for) and received weeks of national ... More ›

Interesting comments KS. Who do you think the mainstream press is? Why would the elite press report anything that would make the administration they put their full unhidden support behind. The mainstream media has a vested ... More ›

KS, You left out an interesting historical fact about the Boston tea party. The British government interfered with the market so much that by the end of 1772, one of Britain's "most important commercial institutions" ... More ›

KS, Did you miss the coverage? CNN showed what they wanted people to see and, just as the rest of the mainstream media, misrepresented the news. Many have seen CNN's Susan Roegen's "report", but others have cameras, ... More ›

The turnout was amazing all over the nation; I am especially proud, though, of all the 400 or so folks who skipped the SA Tea Party to attend the one in Wilson County. I saw families pulled together on blankets; strangers visiting ... More ›

It's refreshing to see that a conservative base is still present and strong in the US. Our traditional party, the republicans, by and large abandoned Conservative fiscal policies in the last administration and I'm afraid we're ... More ›
