H&H Pawn offers more than expected

FLORESVILLE -- If you haven’t been inside H&H Pawn lately, a fresh visit may be in order. The location houses four businesses under one roof, and there is something for nearly everyone in the family.
In addition to pawn operations, H&H is also an AT&T authorized retailer. From cell phones to the Internet, it has you covered. The store also encompasses a gift shop known as Trendy Treasures, and has a third business line known as Affordable Furniture & Appliances.
Operated by store Manager Melissa Popham, who has been working in the pawn-shop business since she was 16, H&H, Trendy Treasures, and Affordable Furniture present a pleasant and relaxed shopping atmosphere.
Popham said the company’s main line of business at this time has been in making short-term loans. While she explained that H&H won’t accept everything carried through the door, it will buy or make loans for “almost anything of value that is in good working condition.” One look around the store justifies that philosophy, as the storefront remains clean and uncluttered. Popham has heard more than once that people “can tell a woman runs the store.”
In addition to dealing in everything from power tools to musical instruments, H&H Pawn is also a federally licensed firearms dealer. The shop buys and sells new and used guns, and can even place special orders upon request. In addition to having access to nearly every brand of firearm, H&H is also now a SIG Sauer SIGnificant Dealer.
Trendy Treasures offers customers a variety of jewelry, knickknacks, shirts, wallets, purses, luggage, and more. Customers are sure to find something they like, and once they do, Popham and her staff will gift-wrap the items.
Perhaps the most overlooked portion of the business, though, is Affordable Furniture & Appliances. Customers can purchase new furniture and appliances, as Affordable is an authorized dealer of King Koil mattresses and Frigidaire appliances. Financing is available, and the store also offers a rent-to-own program.
H&H Pawn, Trendy Treasures, and Affordable Furniture & Appliances are located at 532 10th St. next to McDonald’s in Floresville. Hours of operation are from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
