Gerard and Debbie Shodrock of Adkins, Texas, are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Melissa Ann, to Preston Lee Felux, the son of Larry and Ginger Felux of Poth.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Frank and Ann Wiatrek of San Antonio and the late John and Rosie Shodrock, formerly of San Antonio.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mildred Rihn of Poth and the late Melvin Rihn, and Maggie and Joe Felux Jr. of Kosciusko.

Melissa, a 2000 graduate of East Central High School, graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2005 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies. She is currently employed as a second-grade teacher with the East Central Independent School District.

Preston, a 2000 graduate of Poth High School, earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in management from Texas A&M-Kingsville in 2006. He is currently employed as a firefighter with the San Antonio Fire Department.

The couple have chosen Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, to wed in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Hedwig. The Rev. Bill Zadora will officiate.
