Water Clerk. The City of Elmendorf  has an opening for a fulltime Water Clerk. Preferred candidates should have good organizational skills and perform routine clerical duties, need to possess good communication skills in dealing with the general public. Duties include receptionist functions, water department billing, processing payments and reconciling daily receipts.  Starting pay is $13.50 per hour. High School diploma or equivalent and drug screening is required. Computer experience, cashier experience and bilingual ability is a plus. The 81st & 218th Judicial District Community Supervision and Corrections Department (Adult Probation) is currently seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Supervision Officer for ATASCOSA COUNTY. Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordination Board in Criminology, Corrections, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement/Police Science, Counseling, Pre-Law, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services Development, Public Administration, or a related field that has been approved by the Community Justice Assistance Division (CJAD), or one year of graduate study in one of the above mentioned fields, or one year experience in full-time casework, counseling, or community or group work that has been approved by CJAD.  This position requires some evening and/or weekend work. Salary: Negotiable, plus Regular State benefits. As part of a unified and nation-wide campaign of protests, members of the San Antonio and Boerne Tea Parties will gather on Friday, July 17, at 11:00 a.m., at the local offices of every federally elected legislator, to include that of Senators John Cornyn and Kay Bailey Hutchison, and Representatives Charlie Gonzales, Henry Quellar and Ciro Rodriguez.

The San Antonio Tea Party -- in concert with other Tea Parties across the nation -- will present petitions against upcoming legislation regarding a nationalized health care program, an amnesty for illegal immigrants, the so-called “cap and trade” bill, and legislation regarding “hate crimes”. The San Antonio Tea Party collected over 1,200 signatures on these petitions at our recent 4th of July event at the Rio Cibolo Ranch, and are taking additional signatures through our website, http://www.sanantonioteaparty.org .
