Mackenzie Leigh Thompson and Matthew Bryan Wiatrek were united in holy matrimony Saturday, April 18, 2009, at 2:30 p.m. in the St. Brigid Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas, with Deacon Don Bradley officiating.

Allison Haby, cousin of the groom, was soloist for the ceremony, accompanied by Mary Anne Light, organist. The liturgy was read by Joe Wiatrek, uncle of the groom, and Dr. Debbie Silver, aunt of the bride.

Mackenzie is the daughter of Mark and Barbara Thompson of Benbrook. She is the granddaughter of William T. and Margaret Hill of Georgetown, and Tommy Thompson and Martha Routt of Bedford.

Matthew is the son of Wilfred “Willa” and Sally Wiatrek of Falls City. He is the grandson of Leo and Irene Moczygemba of Hobson, and the late Thomas and Elizabeth Wiatrek, formerly of Cestohowa.

Serving as bridesmaids were Tiffany DeBolt, Amber Sturm, Staci Perkins, Laine Garcia, Michelle Reinhart, Cassi Kopycinski, and Lindsay Howard, all friends of the bride.

Dustin Wiatrek served his brother as the best man. Groomsmen included Clayton Wiatrek and Luke Wiatrek, brothers of the groom, and Hunter Jones, Brandon Gauthie, Bradley Lyssy, Jesse Arenas, and Keith Sekula, all friends of the groom. Montana Pace, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearer.

Bryan Thompson, brother of the bride, and Albert Zunder, uncle of the groom, served as ushers.

After the ceremony, family and friends gathered for a reception in the Canyon Springs Golf Club. The meal for the evening consisted of chicken and beef fajitas with all the trimmings.

Ernest and Aileen Jendrusch started the evening of dancing by leading the bridal party and guests in the traditional grand march. Guests enjoyed an evening of fun and dancing with music provided by DJ--CPR Mobile.

After honeymooning in Cabo San Lucas, the newlyweds are residing in Fort Worth.

The groom’s parents hosted the rehearsal dinner in the Clear Springs Restaurant the evening before the wedding.

A bell is no bell til you ring it
And a song is no song til you sing it,
Love wasn't put in your hearts to stay
Because love isn't love til you give it away.
