Autumn has brought changes in the local business world, with new product lines for existing retailers and some new businesses starting.

Near La Vernia, a destination farm has opened. Majestic Valley Farms offers several varieties of orchard-fresh apples and ornamental produce for Thanksgiving decoration. The farm, located at 13440 F.M. 539 outside La Vernia, is run by Philip and Rose Canalichio.

According to the farm’s Web site, http://www.majesticvalleyfarms.com, “We want the farm and ranch to be a place where families and individuals can come and have wholesome fun, while enjoying the outdoors…”

Cooper’s Garden Place in Floresville is offering large lighted Christmas ironwork decorations. The garden center will be open until 7:30 p.m. through Friday, Nov. 6. Exit onto C.R. 221 off U.S. 181 between Floresville and Poth. Call

A new crop of Cheyenne pecans is now available from Rhew Orchard House at 762 C.R. 403 near Floresville. The baked-goods arm of Rhew Farms, specializing in baked-to-order pies and cobblers, is now open seven days a week until Christmas. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
