AUSTIN -- Here is the fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (full report is available at www.tpwd.state.tx.us)

Freshwater
BRAUNIG Water stained; 72 degrees. Black bass are fair on crankbaits and dark soft plastic worms in reeds and near the jetty and dam. Striped bass are good on liver and shad near the pier and at Dead Tree Point, and on silver and gold spoons and marble spinnerbaits near the jetty and dam. Redfish are good on perch, shrimp, shad, tilapia, and silver spoons, and down rigging spoons near the jetty and dam. Channel catfish are excellent on liver, shrimp, cut bait, and cheesebait near the dam and the intake. Blue catfish are good on cut bait.

BUCHANAN Water clear; 71 degrees; 27.31' low. Black bass are good on Rat-L-Traps, white Spinnerbaits, and white/chartreuse back crankbaits in 8 - 20 feet. At midday switch to JDC skirted craws on jigheads, root beer JDC Drop Shot worms on drop shot rigs, and grape Scoundrel worms along deepwater creek ledges. Striped bass are good on Zara Spooks, Red Fins, Spoiler Shads (plastic swim baits) and drifting or free lining live bait from Shaw Island to Lighthouse Point in 25 - 40 feet on the surface at daylight. White bass are slow to fair on Tiny Traps and 2" plastic swim baits along the river channel in 12 - 25 feet. Crappie are good on pink/white or chartreuse Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows in clear water. Channel catfish are good on liver, minnows, and cheesebait. Yellow and blue catfish are good on live and dead shad.

CALAVERAS Water stained; 72 degrees. Black bass are fair on dark soft plastic worms, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits around reed beds, near the dam, and in Granny's Cove. Striped bass are slow. Redfish are good on live bait and down rigging spoons with green grubs between the crappie wall and the dam in 15 - 20 feet, and on perch and tilapia near the dam and Spider Island. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on liver, shrimp, cheesebait, and shad near the railroad bridge and 181 Cove. Yellow catfish are slow.

CANYON LAKE Water clear; 69 degrees; 12.50' low. Black bass are fair to good on Smokin' Green Devil's Tongues on drop shot rigs, watermelon red Whacky Sticks on wacky rigs, and Texas rigged 6" pumpkin Scoundrel worms along main lake bluffs in 12 - 25 feet, and on white spinnerbaits in standing timber in 4 - 8 feet. Striped bass are slow to fair trolling Gizz 4 crankbaits over and around humps, and jigging 1oz. Pirk Minnows at daylight. White bass are slow. Smallmouth bass are fair on smoke JDC grubs and 3/16oz. pumpkin Curb's jigs with matching JDC craw trailers in 12 - 28 feet early. Crappie are fair on minnows and crappie jigs upriver. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are good on trotlines and juglines baited with live goldfish and perch.

CHOKE CANYON Water clear; 73 degrees; 9.19' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red and watermelon green soft plastics in 15 - 25 feet. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Drum are good on live worms. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on liver and stinkbait in 5 - 15 feet. Yellow catfish are fair on live perch and goldfish.

COLETO CREEK Water stained; 72 degrees (85 degrees at discharge); 2.40' low. Black bass are fair on pumpkinseed soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits in 10 - 20 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and green tube jigs in 10 - 18 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch.

COLORADO RIVER (At Colorado Bend State Park) Water fairly clear. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on live minnows near the boat ramp. Crappie are slow. Catfish are fair on liver and nightcrawlers in deep holes.
FALCON Water clear; 75 degrees. Black bass are good on topwaters and on deep running crankbaits. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on cut bait and shrimp in the river. Everyone in the boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

GRANGER Water stained; 70 degrees; 6.09' high. Black bass are slow. White bass are fair on Rat-L-Traps off points. Crappie are good on chartreuse jigs tipped with Berkley Crappie Nibbles in 7 - 14 feet. Blue catfish are fair on fresh shad. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines in timbered areas near the mouth of Willis Creek and the river.

LBJ Water stained; 72 degrees; 0.18' low. Black bass are good on clear swim baits, Curb's buzzbaits, and watermelon/purple flake Whacky Sticks along seawalls and creek points in 2 - 12 feet at daylight. Striped bass are good on Creme 2" Spoiler Shads and Li'l Fishies at night. White bass are fair to good on Li'l Fishies at night. Crappie are fair on Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows over brush piles in clear water. Channel catfish are good on minnows and liver. Yellow and blue catfish are good on trotlines.

TRAVIS Water stained; 70 degrees; 37.33' low. Black bass are fair on topwaters, dark worms, and crankbaits in 5 - 15 feet. Striped bass are fair on white grubs and jigging spoons in 30 - 40 feet. White bass are fair on chrome jigging spoons and minnows in 25 - 38 feet. Crappie are fair on minnows and white tube jigs in 15 - 30 feet. Channel and blue catfish to 6 pounds are fair on nightcrawlers and fresh cut bait in 28 - 42 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

WALTER E. LONG Water stained; 71 degrees. Black bass are good on minnows and cut bait. Hybrid striper are good on minnows and cut bait. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows near the dam. Channel and blue catfish are good on nightcrawlers and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

Saltwater
BAFFIN BAY Trout are good on topwaters and plum plastics around rocks and grass. Trout are good while drifting deep rocks on plum plastics.

BOLIVAR Trout, black drum, sand trout and redfish are good at Rollover Pass. Trout are fair to good while drifting shell on plastics. Bull redfish are good on the beachfront.

CORPUS CHRISTI Bull redfish are good in the surf on mullet and shrimp. Trout are fair for waders working mud and grass on small topwaters and Corkies.

FREEPORT Redfish are fair to good on the reefs in Christmas Bay and Bastrop Bay. Bull redfish are good around Surfside and at the Quintana jetty on crabs, shrimp and mullet.

EAST GALVESTON BAY Trout and large Gulf trout are good for drifters working deep shell on plastics and fresh shrimp. Redfish and flounder are fair to good in the marsh around drains on shrimp. Trout and redfish are good under the birds when the wind allows.

WEST GALVESTON BAY Bull redfish and flounder are good at San Luis Pass on shrimp and shad. Sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at the jetty on shrimp and crabs. Trout are good under the birds when the wind allows.

EAST MATAGORDA Trout and redfish are fair under the birds when the wind allows. Trout are fair for drifters on live shrimp over humps and scattered shell. Trout and flounder are fair to good on muddy shorelines on soft plastics.

MATAGORDA Trout are fair on sand and grass humps on soft plastics and topwaters. Redfish are fair on live shrimp at Shell Island, Oyster Lake, Crab Lake and Mad Island.

PORT ARANSAS Trout are good on broken-backs around Shamrock Cove. Redfish are fair at Shamrock Cove and Pelican Island on topwaters and Gulps. Bull redfish are good at the jetty and on the beachfront on natural baits.

PORT ISABEL Trout and redfish are good at Laguna Vista and Holly Beach on TTF Flats Minnows and Brown Devil Eyes. Snook and mangrove snapper are good in the Brownsville Ship Channel.

PORT MANSFIELD Redfish are good while drifting pot holes on topwaters and soft plastics under a popping cork. Trout and redfish are fair to good on the spoils on small topwaters and gold spoons.

PORT O�CONNOR Black drum are good on shrimp in Hynes Bay. Redfish are best in the back lakes on shrimp and mullet. Bull redfish are good at the jetty on crabs, mullet and shad. Trout are fair to good on the reefs in San Antonio Bay.

ROCKPORT Redfish are good in Redfish Bay on mullet and crabs. Bull redfish are good in the Lydia Ann Channel and around Mud Island on shrimp and crabs.

NORTH SABINE Trout are fair to good under birds and pods of shad on soft plastics. Redfish and flounder are good in the marsh on shrimp.

SOUTH SABINE Trout are fair to good under birds and pods of shad. Redfish are good at the jetty on live bait and cracked crabs.

SOUTH PADRE Redfish are good in Airport Cove and on the Gas Well Flats on DOA Shrimp and TTF Flats Minnows. Snook are solid in South Bay on topwaters and good on shrimp in the Brownsville Ship Channel. Some areas of the flats have suffered from red tide.

TEXAS CITY Gulf trout are good in the channel on fresh shrimp. Birds are working on the outgoing tide when the wind allows.

TRINITY BAY Trout are good for drifters working pods of shad and mullet on Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Trout are good under birds when the wind allows.
