1920-2009

Alton Alfred Haese, 89, of La Vernia, Texas, passed away Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009.

He was born Feb. 25, 1920, in Wilson County.

Alton was preceded in death by his parents, August and Agathe (Lenz) Haese, and a grandson, Travis Krahn.

He is survived by his wife, Esther (Gutz) Haese of La Vernia; his children, Alton
Haese and wife Becky of Garland, Barbara Wegmann of San Antonio, Margie Krahn and husband Melvin of Adkins, and Charles Haese of La Vernia; his grandchildren, Chad Haese, Karl Haese and wife Kristen, Beverly Mastracci and husband Tony, Erick Wegmann and wife Staci, and Heidi Green and husband James; six great-grandchildren; and other loving family and friends.

Visitation took place Friday, Nov. 6, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia.

The funeral service was held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the La Vernia United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jerry Goodridge officiating.

Interment followed in the Post Oak Cemetery near Seguin.

Donations may be made to the La Vernia United Methodist Church Building Fund, 210 Bluebonnet, La Vernia, TX 78121.
