Shodrock, Felux united in marriage

Melissa Ann Shodrock, the daughter of Gerard and Debbie Shodrock of Adkins, Texas, married Preston Lee Felux, the son of Larry and Ginger Felux of Poth, on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009. The ceremony took place in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Hedwig and was officiated by Father Bill Zadora.
Sarah Sirois was the vocalist, and Michelle Sirois was the organist. Attending the bride were matron of honor Megan Mainz, the sister of the bride; and bridesmaids Reesa Ellis, Carrie Bongiovi, Lauren Shodrock, Rebecca Gutz, Traci Brister, Kerrie Rapp, Tami Hartmann, Amanda Vaughn, and Stephanie Goolsby. Junior bridesmaid was Shae Shodrock.
The flower girls were Addison and Rylee Ellis, and ring bearers were Jacob Wiatrek and Charles Bongiovi V.
The best man was Charlie Bongiovi IV, the brother-in-law of the groom. The groomsmen were Britt Ellis, Brad Rihn, Lucas Skinner, James Matthews, Jason Jupe, Jason Moseley, Josh Hartmann, Thomas Posey, and Jimmy Moy. Tanner Thompson was a junior groomsman. Serving as ushers were Casey Mainz and Jason Doyal.
The beautiful bride was escorted down the aisle on the arm of her father. Her gown was designed by Mori Lee and was an embroidered strapless organza gown with white, silver, and gold threads, among many swarovski crystals that adorned the bodice and ran along the skirt and train. The dress had a dropped torso with a crystal brooch at the center of the waistline. The gown was cathedral length.
The bride carried a bouquet of fuschia and orange roses with lime-green poms. She also carried her mother’s rosary and the white and blue handkerchief of her great-grandmother, Hedwig Wiatrek. Crystals adorned the edges of her fingertip-length veil of tulle. The bride also wore her sister Megan’s blue aquamarine bracelet.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Frank and Ann Wiatrek of San Antonio. Her great-grandmother is Susie Kortz.
Preston is the grandson of Maggie and Joe Felux Jr. of Poth and Mildred Rihn of Poth and the late Melvin Rihn.
A reception was held in the American Legion Hall in St. Hedwig. The couple honeymooned in Cancun, Mexico, and plan to reside in Poth. |
