The Floresville Middle School Cub Band participated in auditions on Nov. 14 at Medina Valley High School for a place in the South Texas Honor Band. A total of 375 musicians from the South Texas area auditioned.

Floresville Middle School will be well-represented in the honor band, placing 54 students, including eight first chairs. The following students were named to the South Texas Honor Band: flute, Sorangel Arguellez, Francesca Carvajal, Kayla Foster, Hannah Fite, and Emily Garcia; clarinet, Claudia Avilez (first chair), Emily Henke, Emerald Starling, Alexis Mandigo, Kaitlin Labus, Elizabeth Montelongo, Andie Ortiz, Autumn Koenig, Vanessa Rodriguez, and Jordan Kenemore.

For bass clarinet, Alyssa Villarreal, Sanam Bhakta, and Elisabeth Garza; bassoon, Andrew Smith (first chair) and Savannah Mohedano; alto saxophone, Alyssa Farias (first chair), Kaia Carrillo, Macy Leonhardt, and Ashley Rubit; tenor saxophone, Alex Campbell; baritone saxophone, Chris Barclay; trumpet, Tracie DeLeon (first chair), Rebecca Flores, Kirstin Crisp, and Julie Rakowitz; French horn, Klaryssa Sanchez (first chair), Casandra Rogers, Michael Mills, Chynna Talamantez, Neil Upchurch, and Alyssa Leal.

On trombone, Zachary Frantz, Justin Parker, Carlos Castro, Misty Williams, Samuel Santos, Joseph Wayne, and Scott Gonzales; baritone, Cristian Baumann (first chair), Cora Mikolajczyk, Jason Bukowski, and Joshua Childers; tuba, Sydney Rodriguez (first chair), Brandon Rodriguez, and Tyler Ramsey; percussion, Haley Wares (first chair), Reagan Middleton, and Jeremy Gaudlitz.

These students will participate in the South Texas Honor Band clinic and concert Saturday, Jan. 23, at Uvalde High School.
