CMMC sets up Project Angel Tree

The Connally Memorial Medical Center (CMMC) in Floresville will oversee the fifth annual CMMC Project Angel Tree. The Christmas tree in the hospital lobby will feature 40 names of children from Wilson County who need help to have a wonderful holiday season this year. Names will be available for pickup starting Wednesday, Nov. 25.
Counselors and staff from Floresville, Stockdale, La Vernia, and Poth independent school districts gathered the children’s information and passed it along to the hospital. Each angel will feature the child’s sex, grade level, and age. Sponsors are asked to purchase clothing items, toys, and gift cards to be delivered to the schools prior to the winter break.
Julie Rowell, an employee of Connally Memorial Medical Center, helped to deliver the gifts last year. “This is one small thing that we can do in our community to help the children -- we love doing this each year,” said Rowell.
Sponsors are encouraged to sign out their angel at the hospital and return the purchased items wrapped and ready for delivery no later than Monday, Dec. 14. The hospital will coordinate the delivery to the schools.
