There’s still time to prepare for Wilson County’s official birthday party, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will take place in the Floresville Elementary School cafeteria.
Gentlemen, you’ve little time to waste if you plan to enter the “Bushy Beard” contest. If you stay away from the razor for the next week or so, you just may stand a chance to win a prize in the competition.
Ladies of all ages, put the finishing touches on those pretty bonnets, or refresh Grandma’s bonnet with a gentle wash and some starch. Don your headgear and head to the high school for an opportunity to win something wonderful, too!
The event will include some history of Wilson County, along with music, drama, recitations, flags, cultural dances and songs, refreshments, souvenirs, a balloon release, and door prizes. Dignitaries representing the area and state will add gravitas to the proceedings.
And what party would be complete without a celebration cake?
