Lucille Pouncey Williams, 95, of Smiley, Texas, died Thursday, May 13, 2010, in Gonzales.

She was born in Smiley on Sept. 30, 1914, and was a member of the Smiley United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe H. Williams, on Oct. 2, 1977. They were married on June 15, 1932. Also preceding her in death were her parents, John Wesley and Henrietta (Robinson) Pouncey; a sister, Nina Friebe; and a brother, Jesse Pouncey.

She is survived by two sons, Nick Williams and wife Cindi of Pearland and Robert Williams and wife Carol of Killeen; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.

Visitation was held Sunday, May 16, from 1-2 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon. The Rev. Michael Cowey officiated.

Interment followed in the Bundick Masonic Cemetery near Smiley.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
