Charlotte Rutter, 58, of Stockdale, Texas, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010. She was born on May 13, 1952, in Torrance, Calif., to Everett Verne and Lucille Hunsaker Fullenwider.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Roger and Charles Fullenwider.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Dane Rutter of Stockdale; her parents, Verne and Lucille of Stockdale; her son, Roger Elkins II and wife Bobbie Jo of Fort Hood; her daughters, Michelle Elkins Postert and husband Rick of Stockdale and Shannon Elkins Thome and husband Joe of Elko, Nev.; her son, Johnathan Rutter of Galveston; her grandkids, Courtney and Joshua Cowey of Stockdale, Michael and Colton Elkins of Marion, Christofer Virgin and wife Stacy of Fort Hood, Joshua Virgin of Huachuka, Ariz., Kenny Vickers and wife Vannessa of Fort Hood, Corey and Sidney Vickers of Fort Hood, and Jeffery Anderson of Fort Hood; her goddaughter, Ashley Ruffcorn of Graham; her nephew, Roger Fullenwider Rhoads of San Antonio; and numerous other family members.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 18, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Tres Hewell Mortuary Chapel in Seguin, with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, with Pastor Frank Pomeroy officiating.

Interment will follow in the Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.

My family is deeply saddened by the loss of such an amazing person. She was like a mother to me and treated my daughters as if they were her grandchildren. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this tough time.
