someone in shock, I just wanted to correct one statement. Floresville has three nursing homes. The Texas State Veterans Home is something that Floresville should be proud of. It employes more than all the businesses you named and is home to our heroes. Without these men and women we would not have the freedoms we do (and most take for granted).

Thank you MS.S V and someone in shock. Finally someone who is intelligent. Kens 5 didn't ask Richardson Brothers. The City Manager did...I don't make ramdom comments with out finding facts. I am glad you are from Floresville. You of all people should be the one in shock. Cars don't bring people to move to Floresville. Neither does jewelry. Schools, Infrastructure, Community Programs, Festivals, and Revitalization of a deteriorating down town is what brings people.

Where was Jim Helmke when we need him? There was so much they didnt say about Floresville. Like we have new appartments and subdivisions with homes to be bought and built . New middle school for control of over crouding I do beleive they could of worded it differently about the auto dealerships. They could of said we had two to choose from. Not a chevy commericial on how the car works .Or that we have 5 banks, over 7 churches , two nursing homes, a industrial park , jackson nature park, or that we allready had a walmart but they felt we were worthy enough to have a super walmart built here nothing about Tractor Supply ,Auto Zone, Cycle Ranch , P&T ,Olivias, Anhelicas, when asked about our festivel he didnt say it was a three day event with a Cornation, Street dances, and Parade . No one could say why we have the peanut on the couurt house square. Darn people why do we have a peant festival because we were known for the peanut crops grown here hence" The Peanut " then there was Bridget Smith when she said wow has fredricsburg changed . My god she didnt even remember where she was, What would make some one come here with that. I really think some cue card would of made it professional, after all we were on an hour we should of really showed more of what Floresville could have offered to the outside world.

Flo-Town: Channel 5 was only doing what the city wanted because it was the city who hired channel 5 to do the piece about Floresville. 'Nuff said.

Citizen: How do you know that the city was the one who requested Richardson? What if Channel 5 was the one who requeted it? Either way, I am a young life long citizen of this community and my family has been here for generations. I am proud of the work that has been put into making our city better. To the comment that I don't have much a point...well a positive one is better than a negative one...my mother raised me with Small Town (Floresville) values. I for one was left proud of our town after the piece.

Flo Town Friend...You have a point, but not much of one. Do you know how much that cost the City? What does Richardson Brothers or the other business shown have anything to do with growth and progess of Floresville? FEDC, Peanut Festival, The Convention Center, Skate Park, new apartments, road improvements, infrastructure, and Accomodations..That is what Growth and Progress really is. Selling a car, jewelry, or clothes is not growth. The only people that benefits are the retailer themselves. Yes Football teams and Cheerleaders are great. Shows alot for this town. But thank you for your opinion FLo it is was very well thought out.

There will always be unhappy people in this world and from the looks of it we have a few who constantly comment on this website. The Great Day SA piece was a win, win for everyone in our community. There are some people who really worked hard on getting this thing together. How about leaving comments about positive things like how great our cheerleaders looked or how great that our Wildcat (State Winning) Football team looked. The part where they encouraged people to come down to our great little town couldn't have been better. Instead all of the nay sayers in our community want to fixate on the negative and cry about who didn't get invited. Well, I didn't see many other businessess on there... It wasn't that long a show... So please in the spirit of the season look deep and find something good to say. I recommend seeing The Grinch this Christmas Break. It really has a moral to the story that you might learn from :)

I here you on that one. I personally am offended by The City not including some of its biggest supporters. Ancira Ford gives to the charities and events in this City every year. They almost never turn anyone away when it comes to things of importance to this community. I guess since they are not on the City Council then they are not represented. What about the trucks that have been bought over the last few years from them. They don't say Richardson Brothers!!!! I guess your right. The Peanut Festival (the only thing that brings this town together) isn't important.Only the giant HAY BARN on 97 is important.

We saw a BIG peanut, but where was the Peanut Festival Court or anyone from the Peanut Festival Board of Directors? Kinda missed the boat on that one!
