The Spirit of Life Lutheran Church (ELCA) in the Olalla community of Port Orchard, Wash., called Pastor Sarah Elizabeth Roemer to serve as its Transformational Ministry Pastor.

Pastor Roemer accepted a call to join Spirit of Life in its mission, as the congregation seeks to revitalize its membership and vision through an Intentional Transformational Ministry Process.

Spirit of Life received a $25,000 grant from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America to re-integrate its ministry with the life and needs of the Olalla community.

Pastor Roemer received her Master of Divinity degree from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago and has served churches in Washington and Texas.

The Rite of Installation for Pastor Sarah E. Roemer was Sunday, Dec. 12, at 9 a.m. A reception followed the service. Presiding at the installation was the Rev. Melanie Wallschlaeger, director for evangelical missions in the Southwestern Washington Synod, and the Rev. Kent Shane of the First Lutheran Church of Poulsbo.

Roemer is a native of Floresville and a graduate of Floresville High School. She is the daughter of Marvin and Molly Roemer and sister of Christine Roemer Sachse, all of Floresville.
