John Edward Epperson Jr., a resident of Helotes, Texas, was born Aug. 29, 1953, and was called to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010.

John is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Epperson; daughters Alice Ann Epperson and Adriette Epperson; sons John Edward Epperson III and Frederick Epperson; stepson Joseph Alcala; his grandson, James; and four granddaughters, Elysse, Eryn, Lauren, and Avedan. He is also survived by his mother, Olga Alvarez and husband Jonas; his father, John Epperson Sr. and wife Judy; three brothers, Frederick, James, and Jonas; sisters Mary and Olga; and many nieces and nephews.

John will be missed dearly by those who truly knew and loved him.

Visitation was held Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, from 6-8:30 p.m. in the Mission Park Funeral Chapels North in San Antonio, with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A graveside service was held Monday at 9:45 a.m. in the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
