Beaverettes play in Thorndale tourney

The Falls City High School varsity Beaverette basketball team recently played in the Thorndale Tournament.

The Beaverettes’ first game was against the Austin Travis junior varsity team, and Falls City easily won 62-7.

Scoring for the Beaverettes were Chelsey Stolle with 12 points, Tiffany Dziuk with 9, Jacy Gibson with 8 points, and Ashleigh Blocker and Kelsi Salziger with 6 points apiece. Also scoring for Falls City were Alysson Bluhm with 5 points; Hatti Foster, Kaitlyn Jarzombek, and Camari Crawford with 4 points each; and Kayla Kotara and Liz Stulting with another 2 points each.

In the second game, the Beaverettes faced a tough San Saba squad and lost 61-27. Scoring for Falls City were Stolle with 15 points, Dziuk with 5, Gibson with 4, and Salziger with 3 points.

The Beaverettes went on to drop their third game in the tournament in a low-scoring contest to Thorndale, 32-27.

Blocker and Stolle led the Beaverettes with 8 points apiece, followed by Salziger with 4 points; Bluhm, Crawford, and Jillian Balser with 2 points each; and Gibson with 1 point.
