FLORESVILLE -- (revised) -- Floresville businessman Jim Miller is among a group of citizens who have drafted a petition calling for the oust-ing of three members of the Wilson Memorial Hospital District Board. This is in response to action taken during the board’s Jan. 12 special meeting.

The petition calls for the removal of Carl Ashley, Ella May Calloway, and Monica Flores, following their votes against Ronnie Eckel’s proposal requesting the 81st Judicial District Attorney’s Office to investigate a failed physician’s recruitment agreement. Tommy Soriero seconded Eckel’s motion.

As part of the agreement, Dr. Roy Fisher began working under Dr. Jerome Kizzart in the Connally Memorial Medical Center’s North County Health Center. But while the men only worked together for 35 days, payments from the hospital to Kizzart continued.

For more information, contact Miller at Photographs by Jim, 1013 C St., Floresville or call 830-393-8303.
