LONE OAK -- Deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a Jan. 13 shooting at a home on Jim Daniel Drive here.

Sheriff’s spokesman Linda Tomasini said Brenda Garcia, 53, of Corpus Christi allegedly shot a 50-year-old woman living at the residence. The name of the victim, investigators believe is Garcia’s sister, has not been released.

Tomasini said it is yet unknown what actually occurred, as Garcia is refusing to speak to investigators. The victim was transported immediately to Brooke Army Medical Center, where she is currently in surgery with gunshot wounds to her back and her left leg.

Garcia, who will be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, was transported to University Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to her heel, Tomasini said.
