Help Wanted

ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Carlos Anthony Rodriguez, 49, of Karnes City, Texas, passed away on Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, in Floresville. He was born Dec. 9, 1961, in Karnes City to Louis J. and Oralia Beltran Rodriguez. He was a 1981 graduate of Karnes City High School.

For the past eight years, he was a custodian with the Floresville Independent School District and also worked part-time in the Karnes City post office.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his sisters, Alice Rodriguez of Karnes City and Linda Rodriguez of San Antonio; and his brothers, Louis Rodriguez Jr. of San Antonio and Ralph Rodriguez of Austin.

A rosary was recited on Thursday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Rhodes Funeral Home Chapel in Karnes City.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes City.

Interment followed in the Hobson Cemetery in Hobson.
