And, we have a brand new example of Journalism "gone to the dogs"...Sam Donaldson this week praised Al Jazeera (spelling?) for their coverage of the Egyptian uprising. And, as I recall, Al Jazeera (need to look up spelling next time before responding), has never had a good or kind thing to say about the USA. They have in many cases praised and aided terrorists and extremist, but Sam Donaldson thinks they are super! Isn't that just peachy?

It is true that today most of the major media has replaced "fact" with "spin" or politically correct pap. Fact is in short supply and takes some digging to find in most cases. I subscribe to two print newspapers, the Wall Street Journal and the Wilson county News. Also several online news and research sources. Comparing how the same news story is presented, say in the Journal as compared to the New York Times, is an education in itself.

I suspect that many many people now have access to a whole lot of information and have discovered that most of the big newspapers and news service bureaus no longer print only the facts...they are constantly reporting information with an ideological slant. Some of your old time reporters never gave their opinion and to the day they retire or die most people could not tell what their political views were on any topic. The news media no longer tells the facts, supported by proof, and only the facts...they want to drop little descriptive adjectives and verbs all of the news report which invariable slant the tale. I have become fed up with this mangling of the news and no longer subscribe to any newspaper and very seldom ever read them just for important information. Just an example: during the 2008 campaign for President, an indepent research discovered that all of the major news organizations gave approximately 77% of their reports on Obama a favorable slant and 23% favorable for Mccain. It's not an accident that another independent rearch discovered that about 90% of all media personnel report that they are Democrat and give money to Democrat Organizations. Is it fair that the news by a Constitutionally protected entity would purposely try to rig and did rig an election? I find that reprehensible, unconstitional, unamerican, and unforgiveable. They keep stabing themselves in the heart and either don't seem to notice or don't care. Some day in the near future they will all be merely a piece of historical fact which tells the story of how the news use to be reported before they all went bankrupt due to the lack of interest from the public due to a lack of unbiased news gathering and reporting.

This is true, but another aspect in addition to journalism's focus on the bottom line is that they have become political pawns of their owners. It's sad.
