Regina B. Rapstine entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at the age of 90 years. She was born June 16, 1920, in Cestohowa, Texas, to John and Gertrude Mutz Biela.

Regina attended Pulaski schools. She married Peter Paul Rapstine on Sept. 28, 1948, in Kosciusko.

Regina and Pete owned and operated the East End Glass Co. in Southeast San Antonio for many years. Regina was an active member of St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church in San Antonio, and for a number of years had enjoyed volunteering at the church’s St. Vincent de Paul Society events. She was an outgoing person who had many friends. Regina was dearly loved by her family as well as her extended family of nieces and nephews, all of whom she spoiled with her delicious homemade goodies of fudge, spiced pecans, and sand tarts.

Regina was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brothers, Joe, Ben, Henry, and Conrad Biela; and her sisters, Theresa and Cecilia Biela.

She is survived by her son, Peter John Rapstine; her daughter, Janice Heinz and husband John; her grandchildren, April Milner and husband James, Michael Heinz, and Amie; her great-grandchildren, Dalton, Nathan, Lezli, and Sara; her sister, Agnes Dugi; her sisters-in-law, Emma Kotara and Dorothy Rapstine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation was held on Friday, Jan. 21, at 5 p.m. in St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church in San Antonio, followed by a rosary at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday at noon in the church.

Interment followed in St. Ann’s Cemetery in Kosciusko.

Pallbearers were Michael Heinz, James Milner, Johnny Biela, Francis Kotara, Vic Dugi, and Roy Frazier. Honorary pallbearers were Dalton and Nathan Milner.
