WACO -- Texas Farmers Union delegates and members will convene for the 109th State Convention on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 28-29, in the Crown Plaza in Dallas, beginning at 6 p.m.

A new Pioneer in Agriculture will be inducted Friday evening, with entertainment provided by the 2010 “Rural American Idols,” Billie Jo Russell, Tammie White, and Emily Worley.

Speakers set for Saturday include Gary Condra, ag law; Jere Locke, program director Texas Drought Project; and Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson as the keynote speaker.

Policy drafting will start at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon, with emphasis on the Farm Bill, Texas Education, and Health Care.
