ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Breeding cattle sale set for Jan. 29 in Cuero

CUERO -- The 26th annual All Breeds Bull and Female Sale will be held Saturday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. at the Cuero Livestock Commission. The sale, sponsored by the DeWitt County Purebred Breeders Association and the DeWitt County Beef and Forage Committee, has drawn approximately 20 bulls and 300 females.

Breeds of bulls to be offered include Angus, Charolais, Brangus, Simmental, and Polled Hereford. Bulls between 15 and 25 months of age are brucellosis tested and meet all trichomoniasis requirements as prescribed by the Texas Animal Health Commission. All bulls will have a complete breeding soundness examination conducted by a licensed veterinarian.

The female sale will feature bred, pairs, and open heifers of F-1 Braford (many Tiger Stripes), Brangus, Beefmaster type, Black Baldy, Brangus Baldy, Brahman, Simbrah Type, and other crossbreds. Many of these heifers are 4-H and FFA commercial heifer prospects. All females, which are between 8 and 26 months old, will be brucellosis tested and palpated within 30 days prior to the sale.

Bulls will sell first, followed immediately by the females. Health papers on all cattle will be given to the buyers.
