CUERO -- The 26th annual All Breeds Bull and Female Sale will be held Saturday, Jan. 29, at 11 a.m. at the Cuero Livestock Commission. The sale, sponsored by the DeWitt County Purebred Breeders Association and the DeWitt County Beef and Forage Committee, has drawn approximately 20 bulls and 300 females.

Breeds of bulls to be offered include Angus, Charolais, Brangus, Simmental, and Polled Hereford. Bulls between 15 and 25 months of age are brucellosis tested and meet all trichomoniasis requirements as prescribed by the Texas Animal Health Commission. All bulls will have a complete breeding soundness examination conducted by a licensed veterinarian.

The female sale will feature bred, pairs, and open heifers of F-1 Braford (many Tiger Stripes), Brangus, Beefmaster type, Black Baldy, Brangus Baldy, Brahman, Simbrah Type, and other crossbreds. Many of these heifers are 4-H and FFA commercial heifer prospects. All females, which are between 8 and 26 months old, will be brucellosis tested and palpated within 30 days prior to the sale.

Bulls will sell first, followed immediately by the females. Health papers on all cattle will be given to the buyers.

For more information, call 361-275-0816.

Anthony Netardus is the Texas AgriLife Extension Service agent for DeWitt County.
