The reward for a high-risk sex offender has been increased as DPS targets North Texas and the Panhandle in their search for Timothy Rosales III, who is one of the 10 most wanted fugitives in the state.
A $7,500 cash reward is now offered for information leading to Rosales’ arrest. He cut off his electronic monitoring device and fled from a Houston halfway house Monday. All calls, texts or e-mails are anonymous. The original award was $5,000.
Authorities are now focusing their search in Denton and Amarillo and surrounding areas because he has family members in those cities. He also sometimes goes by Timothy Rosales Jr.
Rosales, 39, is considered armed and dangerous and was originally convicted of two aggravated sexual assaults in Potter County in 1987. He is now wanted on a felony charge of violating civil commitment, and a parole violation charge. Anyone assisting the fugitive could also face charges.
Rosales is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds. He has brown eyes and a shaved head. Rosales has scars on his right and left arms, on his right wrist and on his back, chest and head. He has tattoos on his left shoulder, arm and leg and on his back and chest. His right arm is discolored.
Texas Crime Stoppers offers rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the 10 Most Wanted Fugitives. Anyone with information can provide anonymous tips in three different ways:
∑ Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
∑ Text the letters DPS--followed by your tip--to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
∑ Submit a tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture to submit a web tip.
All calls, texts or emails are anonymous.
