Carlos R. Munoz passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 71 years, 2 months, and 17 days. He was born in Los Saenz on Nov. 2, 1939, to Rafael Munoz and Francisca Trevino.

Carlos was formerly of Alice, and was a Floresville resident for the past 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Josefita Munoz; his parents; and his son, Samuel.

Carlos is survived by his daughters, Irasema Occhiuzzi and husband Alfred of Floresville and Sylvia Munoz of Alice; his sisters, Frances Rodriguez, Imelda Morgan, and Virginia Garcia, all of Alice, and Rosa Mendoza of Los Mesa; his brother, Romero Munoz of San Antonio; his grandchildren, Aleczandra Occhiuzzi, Luis Occhiuzzi, Samantha Munoz, Fernando Estrada, and Muna Munoz; and his great-grandchildren, Celeste and Julian Munoz.

A visitation was held on Friday, Jan. 21, from 7-9 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville.

Mass followed on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Alice with the Rev. Julian Cabrera as celebrant.

Interment followed in the New Collin Cemetery in Alice.
