Sulema Samaniego went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at the age of 78 years. She was born in Floresville, Texas.

Sulema was preceded in death by her son, Gustavo Samaniego Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Gustavo Samaniego Sr.; her sons, Raymond, Roland, and Leonard Samaniego; her daughters, Rosalinda Garza, Elva Antu, and Sylvia S. Balderas; 24 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A holy rosary was recited on Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at 7 p.m. in the Ortiz Mortuary Chapel in San Antonio.

A Mass was held Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in San Antonio.

Interment followed in the San Fernando Cemetery No. 2 in San Antonio.
