Theresa P. Pompa, 91, of Smiley, Texas, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011. She was born in Edna on Sept. 8, 1919, to Felix and Ezekiela (Espinosa) Pena.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Raymond Pena and Locario Pena; and her sisters, Sally Villasana and Connie Hernandez.

Theresa is survived by her husband, Pascual “Pete” Pompa of Smiley; her daughter, Alicia Pompa Cisneros and husband Israel; and her two sons, Ray Pompa and wife Irene and Felix Pompa and wife Regina. She is also survived by her brothers, Felix Pena, Lee Pena, and Refugio Pena; eight grandchildren, Mark, Steve, Eddie, and Angelica Pompa, Tabitha Pompa, and Israel Cisneros Jr., Lori, and Sandra Cisneros; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and many friends.

Visitation was held Friday, Jan. 28, from 5-8 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m.

A funeral Mass was held Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Phillip’s Catholic Church in Smiley with Father Alfonso Gioppato officiating.

Interment followed in the Wrightsboro Cemetery in Wrightsboro.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
