Dr. Michael Ray Smith, 53, beloved husband, father, and doctor, passed away suddenly Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011. He was born Oct. 24, 1957, to Edward and Ethel Smith in Amarillo, Texas.

Michael was a 1980 graduate of Texas Tech University and went on to the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, where he received his medical degree in 1984. He was currently employed with the Alamo City Medical Group, where he cared for many patients.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Michael is survived by his wife of 26 years, Debra Smith; his precious children, Jessica, Tommy, Katie, and Phillip Smith; and a host of dear friends.

Visitation was held Friday, Jan. 28, from 5-7 p.m. in the Mission Park Funeral Chapels North in San Antonio.

A memorial service was held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Boerne.

A private family burial was held in the Mission Burial Park North in San Antonio, where he was laid to rest.
