PLEASANTON -- Lewis “Lew” Harrison Hayden Jr., one-half of the team that owns the Pleasanton and River Bend golf clubs, has passed away at age 73. Hayden’s business partner, Mike Yanity, confirmed that Hayden died last night.

The partners closed Jan. 20 on a deal to purchase the River Bend Golf Club -- formerly known as the Maverick Golf Club -- and the unsold lots of the Avalon residential subdivision, both located off U.S. 181 Business in Floresville.
