Stockdale ISD invites Gifted and Talented nominations
The Stockdale Independent School District offers a Gifted and Talented program for students with a potential to excel in general intellectual ability.
The Gifted and Talented Nomination and Screening Committee will screen students in grades 1-11. The nomination period will end on Friday, Feb. 11, at 4 p.m. After nominations have been placed, permission slips for testing will be sent home and testing will begin.
A student may be nominated to the Gifted and Talented program by a parent, teacher, or community member. Once a student is nominated for the program, a variety of information is gathered on each student. No single test score or nomination will qualify a child for the program. Once all the information is gathered, a selection committee meets to determine which students qualify for the program.
An individual wishing to nominate a child for this program may go to the student’s school and request the necessary nomination forms or call the school and the forms will be sent. The forms also can be accessed on the Stockdale ISD website.
Students who enter the program must have parental permission prior to admission.
For more information, call Amanda Driffill or Roxanne Seidel at 830-996-3551.
