Lenora Allison, 84, of Nixon, Texas, died on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, in Yorktown. She was born in Robert Lee on Feb. 14, 1926, to King David and Gussie (Foster) Yaws.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otho A. Allison, in 1988; her sons, Kenneth Ray Allison in 1946 and Otho Aubrey Allison in 1987; her brother, J.W. Yaws; and her half-sister, Ida Yaws.

She is survived by her son, Gerald Allison and wife Beth of Yorktown; her brother, W.K. Yaws and wife Bobbie of Smiley; her granddaughters, Joslyn Hensley and husband Nick of LaGrange and Amanda Hermansen and husband Mike of Meyersville; two great-grandchildren, Kaylee Hensley and Kaleb Hensley, both of LaGrange; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives and many friends.

A visitation was held on Monday, Feb. 7, from noon to 2 p.m. in the Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon. The funeral service began at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Michael Cowey officiating.

The burial followed in the Union Hill Cemetery near Nixon.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
