Ruby Lee (Grant) Price was born to William Bill and Susie (Riley) Grant on June 29, 1920, in Wilson County, Texas. She was raised by Luckey and Maggie Lenzy.

Ruby was a good and faithful servant accepting Christ at an early age. She was baptized by the Rev. C. V. Everage in the Mount Moriah Baptist Church, where she remained a member until her death on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at the age of 90 years, 6 months, and 29 days. She served as trustee and as president of the choir at Mount Moriah Baptist Church. She was vice president of the Karnes, Gonzales, and Wilson County Region 7 Workshop Women’s Bible Institute, in addition to serving as a mission teacher.

Ruby was married to Arthur B. Price Sr. of Poth for 51 years, and to the union six children were born: Erma L. Smith, Jessie M. Green, Lucille Moore, Annie M. Price, Arthur B. Price Jr., and Geraldine McCollum.

Ruby Lee and Arthur Lee Sr. are solely responsible for four generations of children, as Princess (Molly) would always say.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur B. Price Sr.; her daughter, Annie M. Price; and her grandsons, Lawerence E. Price, Rodney E. Francis, and Brandon Fletcher.

Ruby leaves to cherish her faith, love, and several memories her brother, Claudice R. Grant and wife Johnny; her sister, Lilly M. Mayberry; her sister-in-law, “Sister” Edna L. Ferrell; her five children, Erma L. Smith and husband Oscar of Atlanta, Ga., Jessie M. Green of San Antonio, Lucille Moore of Seguin, Arthur B. Price Jr. of Round Rock, and Geraldine McCollum and husband Orlando of San Antonio; 35 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 47 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

A visitation was held on Friday, Feb. 4, from 6-9 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral service was held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Floresville United Methodist Church in Floresville with the Rev. James Dubose officiating.

Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery No. 2 in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Zelda Price, Xavier Price, Robert Price, Brayden Price, De Gerald Price, Tremaine Price, and Darian Anderson.
