Peter E. Gonzales Jr. passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 26. He will be remembered as a man who always thought of others before himself.

Every year before Thanksgiving, Peter would collect donations for meals that he would cook and distribute to those in need. He had a large following of friends who helped with this endeavor. This would have been his 13th year providing meals to families, his family said.

“As sick as he was this past Thanksgiving, he still got the turkeys finished,” said Wanda Gonzales, his widow.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. in The Turning Point Church in Floresville.

For her husband’s good works, Wanda is sure he has earned the Lord’s response, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
