Residents and elected officials throughout the area are mourning the loss of Wilson County Pct. 3 Commissioner Robert Harold “Bobby” Lynn. Wilson County Judge Marvin Quinney confirmed that Lynn passed away at approximately 2:30 a.m. Feb. 15.

Lynn, who had been battling various medical ailments over the past few years, was being treated in a San Antonio hospital. He was recovering from surgery after a recent throat cancer diagnosis.

Quinney said Lynn recommended that his foreman, Ricky R. Morales, be named as his successor in the event of his death. This is the subject of a special meeting set for 9:15 a.m., Friday, Feb. 18. But because Friday is also the tentative date for Lynn’s funeral service -- for which arrangements are pending -- Quinney said this meeting could be rescheduled.

My condolences to Bobby Lynn's family and friends. No matter what kind of day Bobby was having, he would often respond "Everything's lovely!" when someone asked how he was doing.
