Jerome M. Dilling passed away on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 93 years. He was born in Fletcher, Okla., to E.W. Dilling and Emza Swisher on Dec. 25, 1916.

He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Army as a captain. He was also a member of the Lions Club.

Jerome was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo, and his parents.

He is survived by his daughter, Alice Cox of Fredericksburg; his sons, Jerome Dilling Jr. and wife Hope of Enid, Okla., Emery Dilling of Austin, Morgan Dilling of Tonkawa, Okla., and David Dilling and wife Tricia of San Antonio; his sister, Jane Griffith of Lindsay, Okla.; his grandchildren, Lt. Spencer Cox and wife Kimberly, Jennifer Cottle and husband Dave, Heather Rayner and husband Don, Christopher Dilling, Tyler Dilling, Cara Dilling, Carlin Dilling, Austin Dilling, Tiffany Dilling, Marshall Dilling, Ryan Dilling, and Collin Dilling; and his great-grandchildren, Addison Cottle, Jackson Cottle, Peyton Rayner, and Blake Rayner.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, Dec. 9, at 3 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church in San Antonio.

Inurnment followed at a later date.
