Magdalena Martinez passed away on Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 92 years, 5 months, and 20 days. She was born in Poth on Aug. 4, 1918, to Mauricia and Alberto Perez Sr.

Magdalena, a lifelong resident of Poth, was an active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a member of the Guadalupanos.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Martinez Sr.; her son, Isaac Martinez; her parents; her sister, Maria Marroquin; and her brothers, Albert, Jesus, Alex, and Alvaro.

Magdalena is survived by her son, Isaac Martinez Jr. of Floresville; her grandchildren, Albert, Michael, and Isaac Martinez; her great-grandchildren, Mark and Aaron Martinez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A rosary was recited on Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m. in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A Mass was celebrated on Thursday at 9 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Floresville with the Rev. Phil Henning as celebrant.

Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Floresville.
