Offer condolences

Minnie Marie Coldewey Mazac, a longtime resident of San Antonio, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at 10:50 p.m. in San Antonio at the age of 74 years, 10 months, and 9 days.

Minnie was born on March 26, 1936, in Floresville to Alfred H. and Josephine Klasek Coldewey. She graduated from Floresville High School in 1954, and was a homemaker. Minnie married Robert “Bob” James Mazac Sr. on March 27, 1936, at Fort Bliss in El Paso. Minnie’s beloved husband of more than 50 years, preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 2004. Minnie was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church in San Antonio.

Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Melvin Coldewey.

Minnie is survived by her children, Carol Ann Ward and husband Dan of New Braunfels, Robert “Bert” Mazac Jr. and wife Tonia of San Antonio, and Roy Mazac and wife Dena of Floresville; her brothers, Robert Coldewey and wife Annie of St. Hedwig and Andrew Coldewey and wife Berta of Floresville; her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Coldewey of Poth; her grandchildren, Kristin Wiederstein and husband Justin of Adkins, Kira Tobin and husband Brian of San Antonio, Joseph Ward and wife Jessi of New Braunfels, Ben Ward of New Braunfels, Ryan, Crystal, and Russell Mazac, all of Floresville, Beau Pollaro and husband Leo of San Antonio, and Phoebe Largen and husband Lyndon of Fancy Gap, Va.; her great-grandchildren, Mason and Pressly Pollaro, Daylin and Kayleigh Wiederstein, Colin Tobin, and Kode James Ward.

A visitation began on Monday, Feb. 7, at 5 p.m. and a rosary was recited at 7 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Eric Travieso officiating.

Interment followed in the Floresville City Cemetery in Floresville.

Serving as pallbearers were Joseph Ward, Ben Ward, Ryan Mazac, Justin Wiederstein, Brian Tobin, Joe Coldewey, David Coldewey, Lyndon Largen, and Mike Mollere.
