Offer condolences

Edward “Edd” T. Pilarczyk went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at the age of 83. He was born on Oct. 24, 1927, on the family farm in Karnes County, Texas, to Louis and Rosalie Mutz Pilarczyk.

He was baptized into the Catholic faith in the Panna Maria Catholic Church, and he attended the Ruckman and Cestohowa schools. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War with more than 12 months in combat. He was a former part-owner of Gawlik and Camber Milling. He was a farmer and rancher, and did custom farming for many years. He was a member of the St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes City and was a lifelong member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8555 in Poth.

Edd was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Theresa Brysch, Annie Edens, and Mary Jarzombek.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Theresa Biemer Pilarczyk of Karnes City; his sister, Emma Jarzombek of San Antonio; his stepsons, Michael C. Ebrom and wife Patti of Bulverde and Robert C. Ebrom Jr. and wife Jo Ann of Karnes City; his stepdaughters, Patricia Korzekwa and husband Tony of Falls City, Henrietta Kopecki and husband Marvin of San Marcos, and Martha Schwan of Smithville; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation was held on Friday, Feb. 11, at 4 p.m. in the Rhodes Funeral Home in Karnes City with a rosary recited at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes City with Father Stanislaw P. Marciniak officiating.

Interment followed in the Panna Maria Cemetery in Panna Maria.

Serving as pallbearers were Russell Korzekwa, Jeffrey Ebrom, Chris Ebrom, John Ebrom Jr., Cory Ebrom, and Allen Kruciak.
