ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Lanie Akin Evans was born on Nov. 30, 1970, to Mike and Molly Akin in Santa Ana, Calif. She went to be with her Father in heaven on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011.

Lanie graduated from Fairfax High School in Fairfax, Va., and attended Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in San Marcos, Texas. She married her husband in Oviedo, Fla., and they made their home in Richmond, Va., where she worked for the Allen Lund Co.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond and Madge Holstein of Fort Stockton, Texas, and Gresham and Mary Akin of Stockdale.

Lanie is survived by her husband, John; her children, Nathan and Bailey of Richmond, Va.; her parents of Nellysford, Va.; her sister, Katie Sullivan and Jerry of Hay Market, Va.; her brother, Jay Pleas Akin of Stockdale; her mother-in-law, Anne Evans of Richmond; several nieces and nephews; and many other family members.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Feb. 1, in Richmond.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Stockdale.
