Offer condolences

Lanie Akin Evans was born on Nov. 30, 1970, to Mike and Molly Akin in Santa Ana, Calif. She went to be with her Father in heaven on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011.

Lanie graduated from Fairfax High School in Fairfax, Va., and attended Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in San Marcos, Texas. She married her husband in Oviedo, Fla., and they made their home in Richmond, Va., where she worked for the Allen Lund Co.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond and Madge Holstein of Fort Stockton, Texas, and Gresham and Mary Akin of Stockdale.

Lanie is survived by her husband, John; her children, Nathan and Bailey of Richmond, Va.; her parents of Nellysford, Va.; her sister, Katie Sullivan and Jerry of Hay Market, Va.; her brother, Jay Pleas Akin of Stockdale; her mother-in-law, Anne Evans of Richmond; several nieces and nephews; and many other family members.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Feb. 1, in Richmond.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Stockdale.

Memorial contributions may be made to College America, Nathan & Bailey Evans College Funds, Allen Lund Co. attn: Letty Evans, 4529 Angeles Crest Hwy. No. 300, La Canada, CA 91011, or to the American Brain Tumor Association, 2720 River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60018.
