Mrs. Wayne Patterson, nee Nancy Ellen Cook of Fredericksburg, Texas, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, in her residence at the age of 63.

Nancy was born Sept. 27, 1947, in Floresville to Roy and Annie Myrle Peyton Cook. She married Wayne Patterson on Feb. 15, 1969, in Floresville.

Nancy taught in the public school system for more than 39 years. The last 20 years she taught at Fredericksburg Middle School.

Nancy is survived by her husband; her son, Kevin Patterson and wife Cecelia of San Antonio; her brothers, James Cook of Conroe, Curtis Cook and wife Joy of Huntsville, and Dale Cook and wife Nancy of Needles, Calif.; her sister, Nelda Hoefelmeyer and husband Carl of Poth; her mother-in-law, Hazel Patterson of San Antonio; her sister-in-law, Donna Patterson of San Antonio; seven nephews and five nieces; and eight great-nieces and five great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. in the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church in Fredericksburg with Dr. J. Jason Fry officiating.

Interment of the cremains will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, 1800 North Llano St., Fredericksburg, TX 78624; to the Fredericksburg Academic Boosters, 110 West Travis St., P.O. Box 1171, Fredericksburg, TX 78624; or to the charity of one’s choice.

My Condolences to Nancy's family during this time. It has been years since I had seen Nancy but know that she will be missed by family and friends. Our prayers are with everyone at this time.
