ON-CALL CRISIS POOL WORKERS NEEDED. Part-time positions are available for after hours “on-call” crisis workers to respond to mental health crisis for Wilson and Karnes Counties. Duties include crisis interventions, assessments, referrals to stabilization services, and referrals for involuntary treatment services according to the Texas Mental Health Laws. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, etc. On-call hours are from 5 p.m.-8 a.m. weekdays, weekends and holidays vary. If selected, you must attend required training and must be able to report to designated safe sites within 1 hour of request for assessment. Compensation is at a rate of $200 per week plus $100 per completed and submitted crisis assessment, and mileage. If interested call Camino Real Community Services, 210-357-0359.

Francis E. Meyer of New Braunfels, Texas, died on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at the age of 80. He was born in Poth on May 13, 1930, and grew up in San Antonio.

Francis was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen, to whom he was married for 46 years.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; and his four children, Catherine Meyer of San Antonio, Carlton Meyer of Las Vegas, Nev., Michelle Farias and husband Tom and their children, Frieda and Thomas of San Antonio, and Paul Meyer and wife Penny and their children, Payden and Paxden of Virginia.

He is also survived by his stepson, Brian Bailey and wife Gwen of Austin and their sons, Ben and Jake; and his stepdaughter, Jan Owens and husband Herb and their daughters, Lindsey Owens and Kimberly Wittry and her husband Jared and their children, Owen, Camryn, and Sawyer, all of Louisiana, and son Charles Owens and wife Kelly and their children, Aiden and Emma.

He is additionally survived by his two brothers, Will Meyer and wife Rosemary of Lafayette, La., and Harry Meyer of Lockhart.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 16, from 6-8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. in the Mission Park Funeral Chapels North in San Antonio.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in San Antonio.

The burial will follow in the Blessed Sacrament Cemetery in Poth.

His family requests that any memorials be made to those charities that primarily support the rights and/or benefits of children. He will be greatly missed, said his family.
