Ora Belle Crisp Baker, a longtime resident of La Vernia, Texas, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at 7:01 a.m. in Floresville at the age of 93 years, 6 months, and 1 day.

Ora Belle was born Aug. 9, 1917, in Leakey to Thomas Francis Marion and Minnie Ellenor Laster Crisp. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God 7th Day in China Grove. Ora Belle married Wesley Reuben Baker on Aug. 8, 1935.

Ora Belle was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her sons-in-law, Lenard Karnei and Elroy Gold; and her eight siblings.

Ora Belle is survived by her children, Joyce Virginia Gold of Floresville, Nona Belle Karnei of Floresville, Minnie Mary Albert and husband Franklin of

La Vernia, Sherman Wesley Baker and wife Elaine of Sutherland Springs, Patricia Ann Minica and husband Keith of Sutherland Springs, and James Thomas Baker and wife Delaine of Jourdanton; her sister, Allie Mae Furlong and husband Truman; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

A visitation was held on Friday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. in the Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel in Floresville.

A funeral service was held on Friday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel in Floresville, with Pastor Wayne Hrenyk officiating.

Interment followed in the Camp Ranch Cemetery in Wilson County.

Serving as pallbearers were Clifton Karnei, Elroy Gold Jr., Glenn Karnei, Brannon Baker, Cody Baker, Nelson Minica, Stuart Minica, and Andy Minica.
