AUSTIN -- Here is the fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (full report is available at www.tpwd.state.tx.us)

Freshwater

BRAUNIG Water clear; 59 degrees. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits, dark soft plastic worms, and minnows in the reeds and near the dam. Striped bass are fair on liver, shad, and spoons. Redfish are fair on spoons, tilapia, crawfish, perch, and shad near Dead Tree Point. Channel and blue catfish are good on liver, shrimp, and shad in 20 -- 30 feet.

BUCHANAN Water clear; 57 degrees; 10.42' low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse curl tail grubs on jigheads, Texas rigged watermelon Scoundrel worms, and trolling blue back Fat Free Shads along ledges in 10 -- 25 feet. Striped bass are fair on live shad, Spoiler Shad swim baits, and Pirk Minnows in 20 -- 30 feet. White bass are fair on jigging spoons, white crappie jigs, and spinnerbaits along main lake points in 15 -- 20 feet. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.

CALAVERAS Water clear; 59 degrees. Black bass are fair on watermelon soft plastic worms, minnows, and crankbaits near the dam. Striped bass are good on Rat--L--Traps, chicken livers, and shad near the dam. Redfish are fair on perch, shad, and tilapia. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are good on liver, shrimp, and stinkbait. Blue catfish are good on liver and nightcrawlers. Yellow catfish are slow.

CANYON LAKE Water clear; 55 degrees; 1.13' low. Black bass are good on watermelon Brush Hogs, Texas rigged chartreuse JDC drop shot worms, and tubes on jigheads along bluffs in 15 -- 25 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on spinnerbaits and crankbaits along main lake points. Smallmouth bass are good on watermelon red grubs, blue/red flake tubes on jigheads, and white soft plastic worms along main lake points. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.

CHOKE CANYON Water clear; 58 degrees; 5.68' low. Black bass are fair on watermelon jigs, crankbaits, and soft plastic worms along grassy edges. White bass are slow. Crappie are on minnows and Li'l Fishies. Drum are fair on live worms. Channel and blue catfish are good on minnows and hot dogs in 5 -- 15 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

COLETO CREEK Water fairly clear; 60 degrees (79 degrees at discharge); 0.01' high. Black bass are fair on chartreuse Rat--L--Traps and spinnerbaits. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish to 3 pounds are good on perch and stinkbait in 10 -- 20 feet. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch.

FALCON Water clear; 61 degrees. Black bass are good on watermelon worms and slow rolling spinnerbaits in 15 -- 25 feet. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on frozen shrimp, liver, and stinkbait. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

GRANGER Water stained; 55 degrees; 0.63' low. Black bass are slow. White bass are fair on Shad Rap crankbaits near Comanche Bluff. Crappie are fair on minnows between Fox Bottom and the Primitive Launch under lights at night. Blue catfish are good on prepared baits and shad. Yellow catfish are slow.

LBJ Water fairly clear; 58 degrees; 0.18' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red jigs, pumpkinseed worms, and green pumpkin tubes off docks. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair to good on silver Pirk Minnows near the power plant. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are fair on shrimp and nightcrawlers. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.

TRAVIS Water stained; 58 degrees; 13.09' low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse crankbaits, soft plastic worms, and Rat--L--Traps in 10 -- 25 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows and jigging spoons in 30 -- 40 feet. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs in 15 -- 30 feet. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shrimp and nightcrawlers in 20 -- 40 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.

WALTER E. LONG Water stained; 57 degrees. Black bass are fair on watermelon soft plastics and spinnerbaits. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.
Saltwater

BAFFIN BAY Trout are fair to good in the Land Cut on live shrimp. Trout are fair to good for waders working rocks and mud on Corkies. Wading spoil islands has paid off for trout on Corkies and MirrOlures.

BOLIVAR Trout are fair to good on the south shoreline on soft plastics and plugs. Black drum and redfish are good at Rollover Pass.

CORPUS CHRISTI Trout are fair to good on the edge of the spoils on Gulps and live shrimp. Black drum and redfish are fair to good in the channels on crabs.

FREEPORT Sand trout and sheepshead are good on live shrimp on the reefs in Christmas Bay. Black drum and redfish are good at the jetties on cracked blue crabs.

EAST GALVESTON BAY Trout are good on the south shoreline on Catch 5s, MirrOlures and Catch 2000s. Whiting and sand trout are good on the edge of the Intracoastal on fresh shrimp.

WEST GALVESTON BAY Trout are fair to good for drifters working shell on live shrimp. Sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at the jetty on shrimp and crabs. Redfish are good in the cuts leading to the back lakes on shrimp and Gulps.

EAST MATAGORDA Trout are fair for drifters over mud and shell on live shrimp, Bass Assassins, TTF Flats Minnows and Norton Bull Minnows. Redfish are fair to good on the edge of the Intracoastal on crabs and mullet.

MATAGORDA Redfish are fair to good on the edge of Oyster Lake on shrimp and crabs. Black drum and redfish are fair to good at the jetty on crabs.

PORT ARANSAS Redfish and sheepshead are fair to good at the jetty on shrimp. Trout are fair at the mouths of guts on the outgoing tide.

PORT ISABEL Trout are fair to good on the edge of the flats adjacent to deep water on TTF Flats Minnows and live shrimp. Black drum and redfish are fair in the channel on shrimp and crabs.

PORT MANSFIELD Trout are fair to good on Corkies and MirrOlures around sand, grass and mud. Redfish are fair to good while drifting pot holes.

PORT O’CONNOR Trout and redfish are fair on soft plastics over soft mud. Trout and redfish are fair for drifters working the back lakes with live shrimp. Fish have been at the mouths of cuts on the falling tide.

ROCKPORT Trout are fair to good in Morris--Cummings Cut on free--lined shrimp. Redfish are good in California Hole on natural baits. Trout are fair on the edge of the shrimp boat channel on DOA Shrimp and Gulps.

NORTH SABINE Trout are fair to good on the Louisiana shoreline on topwaters and Corkies. Flounder are fair on jigs tipped with shrimp around marsh drains.

SOUTH SABINE Redfish are good in the cuts leading to the marsh. Sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at the jetty on live shrimp. Trout are fair to good while dredging the reef on soft plastics.

SOUTH PADRE Trout are fair to good around the spoil islands and edges of channels on DOA Shrimp and Gulps under popping corks. Black drum, sheepshead and redfish are fair on shrimp at the jetty.

TEXAS CITY Black drum and redfish are fair to good at the mouth of Moses Lake on shrimp and crabs. Sheepshead are fair on shrimp under a popping cork around the rock groins.

TRINITY BAY Trout are fair good for drifters working mud and shell on Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Redfish are fair at the Spillway on crabs and shrimp. Catfish are good in the marsh on shrimp.
