NEW BRAUNFELS -- After knocking off the team from Johnson City Feb. 17, the Falls City Beaverette basketball team has improved its overall season record to 23-3, and can add an area championship to its season resumé.

The Beaverettes played well, and remained in control of the game throughout. Falls City was able to keep Johnson City guessing with a balanced attack from the perimeter, as well as down in the paint. When the final buzzer sounded, it signaled the end of the season for Johnson City, and an area championship for the Beaverettes, as they claimed victory by the score of 55-37.

Camari Crawford led the Beaverette scoring effort with 16 points on the night, followed by Tiffany Dziuk and Chelsey Stolle with 10 points each, and Kelsi Salziger with 9. Jacy Gibson scored 4 points for Falls City, Jillian Balser had 3, Kaitlyn Jarzombek scored 2 points, and Ashleigh Blocker sank a free throw.

The Beaverettes advanced to the Class 1A Division 1 Regional quarterfinal round of competition where they were scheduled to face Mason. The game was set for Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at Canyon Lake.
