On Feb. 20, 2011, Sara Ashlee Wiatrek lost her courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Sept. 9, 1987, to Pat and Sharon Wiatrek in St. Hedwig, Texas.

Her short life was fulfilled by marrying her high school sweetheart, Nick Hudek.

Sara was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Isadore Wiatrek and Clifton Meyer.

She will be greatly missed by her grandparents, Frances and Marvin Kalisky and Lollie Wiatrek; her siblings, Brian, Craig, Kevin, and Brittany Wiatrek; her niece, Allison Wiatrek; and her nephews, Scott and Lukas Wiatrek.

A visitation will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 23, from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Hedwig.

A Mass will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the church with Father Bill Zadora officiating.

Interment will follow in the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sara’s name to The Research Department at ThriveWell Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 29331, San Antonio, TX 78229 or www.thrivewell.org/donate.
